It's not everyday we have the pleasure of marketing a home that has been lived in by the same owner since new, but that's exactly what we have on offer here. June, our delightful owner and her husband had their home designed and built in 1949 and she and her family have loved and lived here since then, for a grand total of 72 years! So for Trish and I it is an honour to market and sell this home and a chance for us to show to you how history, family ties, love and classic solid Kiwi building of its day has stood the test of time so well.
Originally the home was built with two bedrooms, a front formal lounge with a fireplace, a separate dining room with French Style doors to a sunny side deck and a well set out galley style kitchen. With their expanding family our owner had the home extended to accommodate an extra bedroom and also to add an ensuite bathroom, that would have been a real luxury at the time.
The address of this home is another one of the secrets as to why she has never wanted to leave; 18 Wicklow Road in Narrow Neck. Situated just a short walk to the golden sands of Narrow Neck beach, along the road to parks and reserves and where their children could safely walk to school as children on the street continue to do today. Parcel this all up with a superb 506m² sun filled private garden with a flat lawn and pretty flowers in the borders and you will soon see why this family stayed in this lovely home for so long.
Having the company of others in a retirement home, is now tempting June to finally move on and therefore it's time for her to hand over the keys to the delight of the new owners who we know will love and live here for many years to come too, and create their own memories in this very special home.
